Apply to become chartered by experience

The experiential route to becoming a Chartered Internal Auditor is available to senior practitioners who can demonstrate their professional competence via a written application and panel interview.

You can use this form to apply for the chartered by experience route and book a date for your interview. The assessment takes around 60 - 90 minutes and we will contact you nearer the date to arrange a specific time for the interview.

If you're not already a member of the institute please join as an affiliate before applying to become chartered.

Before you apply, please read the requirements and make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. The application fee is not refundable.

Registration deadline

Interviews are conducted via a video conference until further notice. 

For interviews in November 2024, you need to register by 07 October 2024 and submit your written application by 22 October 2024.
