Risk in Focus 2022
Take part in our general discussion of Risk in Focus 2022 with this open-to-all virtual event covering essential findings from the report and more.
Businesses and their internal audit functions have been forced to adapt at a pace and scale they have not previously experienced. In many ways, COVID-19 has acted as an accelerant. Faster digitalisation, more remote working and the growing reliance on technology are themes that have defined this recent period of instability and change. However, these are not passing themes. It is widely anticipated that businesses will retain some degree of home working, likely opting for hybrid models. This inherently requires a greater dependence on technology which inevitably supports the data security agenda.
As the world moves on from the pandemic, businesses will need to continuously adapt to rapid and fundamental change in the external environment. For internal audit the challenge has been, and will continue to be, keeping up with this transformational change. The third line must understand how the business is adapting, what impact this is having on its risk profile and discuss whether appropriate efforts are being made to achieve the change and innovation required to secure the business's future. This period of immense and rapid change will also require internal audit to raise the bar with regard to its own agility and adaptability to deliver the necessary assurance coverage in what remains a highly uncertain environment.
Our panel look forward to walking you through the report and providing a welcome introduction to it.
