Apply to become chartered by experience

The experiential route to becoming a Chartered Internal Auditor is available to senior practitioners who can demonstrate their professional competence via a written application and panel interview.

You can use this form to apply for the chartered by experience route and book a date for your interview. The assessment takes around 90 minutes and we will contact you nearer the date to arrange a specific time for the interview.

If you're not already a member of the institute please join as an affiliate before applying to become chartered. 

Requirements and eligibility

Before you apply, please read the requirements and make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. The application fee is not refundable.

Registration deadline

Interviews are conducted via a video conference until further notice. 

For interviews in January 2021, you need to register by 15 November 2020 and submit your written application by 30 November 2020.
