Chris Moon - Step_Beyond


He survived against all odds as a prisoner of the Khmer Rouge and being blown up by a landmine in remote East Africa losing his right arm & leg. He became the first amputee ultra-distance runner. His keynotes and workshops are more than stories; they are lessons in challenging the concept of limitation. Through his uplifting, humorous, and interactive sessions, Chris empowers individuals and teams to step beyond their perceived limits, and increases engagement, enthusiasm resilience, and performance.


Mark Wilson - Founder and Director, Una Vita Talent


Mark Wilson is the Founder and Director of Una Vita Talent, a fractional recruitment consultancy, and Trustee Connect, a recruitment platform for charity trustees. With an MBA and over 26 years in the recruitment industry, he specialises in executive appointments and mid to senior-level hires across Finance, Risk, and Assurance. Mark excels in supporting and advising business leaders on refining their recruitment strategies for optimal results. He is passionate about social mobility and serves as the Chair of Trustees at Pilton Youth and Children's Project, as well as a Lothian Advisory Board Member at Career Ready. These roles reflect his dedication to supporting young people and promoting social mobility through education and career opportunities.


Nick Wallis - Investigative Journalist and Broadcaster


Nick Wallis is an award-winning investigative journalist and broadcaster, who brought the Post Office scandal to public attention via three Panoramas, a Radio 4 series and podcast (The Great Post Office Trial), his book The Great Post Office Scandal and his work as the series consultant on Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

He now speaks regularly about the extraordinary injustice that saw sub-postmasters wrongly imprisoned for theft, false accounting and fraud, covering both the legal processes and the human stories that emerged from this scandal.


Colin Howden - Chair of the Chartered IIA Scotland Committee


Colin is the Chair of the Chartered IIA IIA Scotland Committee and has been a member of the Committee for over six years. He established and led the Scottish IIA Practitioners Forum for over four years and has been heavily involved in organising the past four Scottish Conferences. He is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying in 2002 through ICAS while at PwC, undertaking a range of client work in utilities, financial services and manufacturing. He has worked in internal audit (IA) and risk advisory roles since 2004 and is currently Head of Audit at Liverpool Victoria (LV=) in the financial services sector and a member of the LV= wide Senior Leadership Team. Colin’s previous role was as Head of Group Internal Audit at SMS plc, a smart metering and energy management company. He has also been in senior internal audit and risk advisory roles at Grant Thornton, TSB Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and Morgan Stanley Card Services and led global aviation support services audits at BBA Aviation plc. He is an active mentor at ICAS and LV=, and a member of the LV multi-cultural Respect network.


Gary Stewart - Director of Governance and Risk Assurance, Scottish Enterprise


Gary is the Director of Governance and Risk Assurance at Scottish Enterprise, having previously been the Director of Audit. He provides direction and oversight of governance, risk management, legal, transformation, and wider assurance activity in Scottish Enterprise. He also leads on the Internal Audit Partnership service, which delivers internal audit to wider skills and economic development-related bodies, with a keen focus on sharing insights and best practice.

Gary is an experienced Head of Internal Audit across different sectors, including roles within the UK and Scottish Governments, professional practice, charities, energy, and industry regulators. He is currently a Trustee and the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee Chair for a multi-academy trust and has previously been on the IIA Council, chairing its Audit Committee. He is chartered with the IIA and a member of CIPFA, as well as qualified with the Institute of Risk Management.


Ann Brook - Head of Technical Content and Research, Chartered IIA


Ann has worked in internal audit and related professions for over 25 years and became a Head of Internal Audit in a large Building Society in 2009. Since then, she worked in Risk Management and various governance roles, and held multiple appointments as Board, Council and Audit Committee member across a range of sectors and industries. Ann moved into Higher Education in 2013 with the aim to giving more back to the internal audit profession. She was course leader for the only Internal Audit focused degree in the UK and helped develop both the level 4 and level 7 Apprenticeships with the trailblazer group of employees. She subsequently implemented and delivered the level 7 apprenticeship which she grew over 5 years by 700% with great success.  Ann has been an active volunteer of the Chartered IIA since 2007 and is now Head of Technical Content and Research. She aims to bring her practical and higher education experiences to drive practical support for the internal audit profession.


Alex Psarras - Associate Director in Internal Audit and Financial Advisory, Protiviti


Alex is an Associate Director in Internal Audit and Financial Advisory at Protiviti. Since 2010, Alex has been working closely with clients to align Internal Audit and GRC functions with their objectives, helping them bridge the gap between risk, data, and technology. Alex is an expert in implementing Data Mining, Visualisation, Artificial Intelligence, Process Mining, and Robotic Process Automation solutions and has considerable experience leading data-driven engagements. Being an advocate for technological advancement in audit and risk functions, Alex works alongside audit leadership to harmonise their strategic vision with a practical approach that focuses on people, process, and technology. His experience allows him to both meet current audit needs and foresee future requirements in an ever-changing business landscape.


Federico Charosky - Founder and CEO, Quorum Cyber


Federico Charosky is a risk and cyber security expert with a career spanning more than 20 years. He currently leads Quorum Cyber as its founder and CEO.  Quorum Cyber, a UK-based cyber security firm, serves a global clientele across diverse sectors, helping customers win in complex and hostile digital environments.  Federico has held several high-ranking positions across the globe. He served as the Head of Security at a Middle East bank, took on the role of Company Director and Head of Consulting at a UK cyber security firm, and acted as a Senior Advisor for numerous prestigious blue chip and FTSE 100 companies. His breadth of experience covers the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.


 Kristian Bollerup - Vice President Corporate Risk & Internal Audit, LEGO Group


Previously served as audit partner at Deloitte in Denmark and has 20+ years of audit experience

Internal audit leadership experience from Danfoss and, since 2019, the LEGO Group

In between, co-founded a SaaS company, delivering a solution to run internal controls for mid- and large companies, now listed on the Copenhagen stock exchange growth platform

Board membership in midsized P&C insurance company in Denmark and a couple of smaller boards


Zoe Adey - Head of Automation and Innovation for Internal Audit, HSBC


Zoe Adey is Head of Automation and Innovation for Internal Audit at HSBC. Zoe is currently leading the development of HSBC Internal Audit's GenAI solution.

Zoe has over 20 years of experience in data analytics having previously worked leading teams in PwC and KPMG. Zoe is an expert in implementing advanced data analytics, process mining, data visualisation, Artificial intelligence and delivering technical training.

 


Stuart Birnie - Director in Pulsar Consulting


Stuart worked for PwC for nearly 20 years supporting clients with transformation, risk and resilience initiatives. For the last 3 years he has focussed specifically on helping clients leverage technology to enhance risk, resilience and audit processes. Stuart is currently a Director in Pulsar Consulting.  

 


Marc McNulty - Scotland Internal Audit Team Lead, Deloitte


Marc is a member of UK Deloitte IA leadership and leads the IA team in Scotland. He specialises in the provision of IA services across Financial Services, from EQAs and QA through co-source and outsourced internal audit.

 

 


Scott Strachan - Audit Director (Asset Management and Corporate Investments)


Scott has 25 years of professional and industry experience, with extensive experience in the auditing all aspects of global investment management businesses including all investment classes, operations, distribution and corporate functions.

Previously Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Scotland.  Scott remains actively involved with the Institute at regional, national and global levels
