Elements of a speak up framework

Speaking up arrangements, more traditionally referred to as whistleblowing, are a key part of the governance of organisations. When implemented in an effective manner, they can facilitate the reporting of a broad range of wrongdoing that might otherwise remain undetected. The formal arrangements are likely to be more effective if they are supported by a culture that encourages speaking up.

During the course you will be able to reflect upon a variety of options to be considered in the design of arrangements for speaking up, and approaches to creating a culture in which speaking up is more likely to occur.

You will also be able to reflect upon the various roles that internal audit may perform in relation to an organisation’s speak up arrangements and consider how these have been applied in your own organisation.
